   Recycled material Orchestra combines sensory play, environmental awareness, and rhythm. By transforming paper roll/cardboard tubes, plastic spoons and kinder eggs into functional musical instruments, such as flute or maracas, children learnt that they have the power to reshape the world around them. At the end of the activity, our classroom turned into a vibrant symphony.

To understand that the wind is a clean source of energy, I challenged my preschoolers to build functional windmills using Lego for the base and paper cups for the sails. We tested the windmills using hairdryers.

In this activity, my preschoolers used a "magic wand" (a toothpick) to guide a drop of water through a hand-drawn path without breaking the drop (whenever the drop split, I showed them how to rescue the pieces by dragging them back together to make a big drop again) or to navigate a fluffy pom-pom through a maze, from start to finish.

Each child created a superhero using colored pencils (mainly brown, green and blue) and presented it, explaining its superpower and positive impact on the surrounding environment. 

This is Tree-Man! He can generate clean air for all of us. (David)

 This activity blended creativity, science, and environmental awareness. The children acted as innovative engineers and artists, designing a special mask or shield out of natural and recycled materials. They learned the value of reusing resources and gained confidence in sharing their ideas.

Goals: to introduce children to the basic needs of a plant (soil, water, sun); to practice early counting. 

Each child received  2 eggshell halves, scooped soil into each eggshell, using a small spoon, planted a specific number of beans and wrote down the number of beans - math connection. 

The children used the watering cans to moist the soil, they placed the eggshell into the carton and displayed them at the window - science connection.

                    Each class chose words they liked for the project. The children wrote down the chosen    words, the teachers photographed them and completed the design. The words came together to form the  project's vocabulary booklet.

 We talked to the children about air pollution. Since one way to prevent air pollution is through clean and renewable energy sources, we examined windmills. The children built their own windmills and spent both fun and productive time in the garden.
